The regional launching of the “It’s More Fun in the Philippines” by the Department of Tourism-Region 9 Office last May 19, 2012 at Paseo del Mar was a roaring success. Spearheaded by DOT-9 Regional Director (RD) Mary June Bugante, they had a Filipino themed event, “Fiesta Engrande,” to showcase the great fun side of Filipino games and culture. It was supported by Zamboanga City Mayor Celso Lobregat through the office of the Zamboanga City Tourism Office.

It started with a grand parade, “Fiesta Parada,” from Plaza Pershing to Paseo where traditional Pinoy games “Juego de Antes” were played by children and adults alike. The day ended with “Bailes de Antes where Filipino traditional songs and dances were presented at the inside court of Fort Pilar Museum.

RD Bugante said that this “More Fun” launching will also be held in other cities of Western Mindanao.

Showing here are pictures taken by Sixto Kwan Jr., John Michael Mabalot, and DOT of the “Juego de Antes”.
