It was a landslide victory for the ruling party, Solid Party, as all its candidates won the coveted 15 board member seats of the Zamboanga Press Club last June 9, 2012 at the Lotus Restaurant of Grand Astoria Hotel.  And they voted again the incumbent president Philip Abuy of RPN to lead this oldest press tri-media of Zamboanga City. It is now on its 31st years of existence.

Other newly officers are Richard Gregorio Falcatan (RMN - DxNO)-  Executive Vice President, Elsie Eisle C. Molina (DxMR/Radyo ng Bayan) - VP for Radio, Monch Follosco (Zamboanga Today) - VP for Print,
Nonong Santiago (GMA/Triba Media/Zamboanga Today)- VP for Television, Ma Ester Doroteo (RPN)- Secretary, Jayvee Francisco (GMA) - Treasurer, Hermie Las Piñas Ventura (RMN/TV 11) - Auditor, and
Chairman of the Board - Bong Garcia  of Sun Star Online.
The new set Board of Directors are Joey Arana Bautista (Daily Zamboanga Times/CMO-Information Division), Victor Campaner (RPN), Hader Glang (Zamboanga Today),Eugene Euge Lasprilla (Zamboanga Today/RMN), Paul Reales (ABS-CBN) and Jimmy Villaflores (RMN/Daily Zamboanga Times).Bottom of Form

Asked what are his projects for ZPC? President Abuy said he will propose an accident insurance policy for all members, and probably enter also into a memorandum of agreement with colleges or universities to grant scholarships to deserving children of media people. I commend him for these noble plans as starters to make the club more meaningful to its members.

I got this text from a friend the other day and I like to pass it to ZPC.

Be a channel of inspiration to every person you meet along the way. Life is never a coincidence. It’s the fruit of the seed you plant. Remember there are only 2 days in our lives that we cannot do anything about. One is YESTERDAY which is already gone. The other is TOMORROW which is uncertain and might not come at all.

We can only live for today so work, relax, love, pray and above all enjoy.
