“The WYA Foundation was more than willing to sponsor my green card. And Ijust said, I can’t. I have to go back to the Philippines. I’ve been championing the dignity of the person for other countries. This is an opportunity for me to directly champion the dignity of the Filipino.” Congresswoman Aliah Dimaporo.

Named as one of the top 10 beautiful Philippine politicians in the 15th Congress, the charming, statuesque and with a golden tan, Lanao del Norte Congresswoman Fatima Aliah Dimaporo is more than just a pretty face.

She is a nurturing Filipina who encourages others to reach the full potential of their God-given talents. She is courageous woman whose inner strength goes beyond selflessness and enables her to make sacrifices for her family and country. She is an inspiring role model by sharing her story so they, too, can achieve great things. Lastly, she is beautiful both inside and out, and shines her light on everything and everyone around her.

That is why she was honored lately by Human Nature and the Beauty Bar as one of the 15 exemplary Filipinas in an exhibit campaign “Pinay & Proud” in malls and schools in Metro Manila.  It displayed to all that amidst the diversity in culture, religion or even dialect, a Filipina is special and unique woman. Gone are the days when she would shy away from her origins, for in this day and age she holds her head high with unspeakable joy, pride
and dignity. She is Pinay, and she is Proud.

In 2007, 27-year-old Aliah Dimaporo found herself in New York as Executive Director at the World Youth Alliance Foundation (WYA Foundation) which meant having consultative status to the United Nations.

It was here that Aliah was invited to run for Congresswoman of the 2nddistrict of Lanao del Norte. Though returning to the Philippines meant giving up her executive position at the WYA Foundation, it was not a difficult decision to make. After years of working abroad, Aliah knew in her heart it was time to serve her countrymen.

She admits it was living away from home that brought her closer to her Filipino roots. As one of the youngest ones sitting in Philippine Congress, this Maranao Muslim beauty realized that for the Philippines to move forward, it was vital for young leaders to understand each other’s cultures and differences. Realizing the beauty in diversity, which the Philippines is so rich with, will then serve as inspiration for other young leaders to take ownership of this and come together to champion the Filipino people - very much similar to how she did.

Cong. Aliah Dimapro believes that resilience is the perfect word to describe a Filipina. She said, “We’ve seen this among mothers and women who are rebuilding their communities after Typhoon Sendong or Typhoon Ondoy… we see this in our daily lives where the modern Filipina is caring for her family and at the same time working”.

Human Nature is a successful and a sustainable social enterprise that produces organic and 100% chemical free quality natural personal and beauty
products for all Filipinos. It aims to uphold our people and our country around the world through Made in the Philippines products. Their Zamboanga office is located at the second floor of GBPI II Building at La Purisima St. (in front of Metropolitan Immaculate Cathedral), Zamboanga City.
