Paseo del Mar is getting to be one of the premiere tourist must go and must experience places in Western Mindanao. Located at the back of Fort Pilar of Zamboanga City and beside by the sea, it offers a relaxing place to stroll and to dine with families, friends, and visitors. It has a wonderful view of the sunset, the pristine pink sand Sta. Cruz Island, and the majestic Basilan Island.

And every evening, everyone can enjoy the most vibrant musical gyrating water fountain in Zamboanga Peninsula there. Now and then, there are special events being held too. Lately, the place is offering colorful vinta boat sailing for those who want to ride in Zamboanga’s popular icon.

Last August 28, 2012, Paseo del Mar welcomed to its fold Kape Zambo na Paseo, second branch of the famous Kape Zambo of Canelar. Known for its good food and music as well calming acoustic music, it offers a different and a better soothing dining experience for people of all ages and class in this promenade place. It is strategically located near the building where a convention center is being constructed and in front of the jump off point (boat boarding port) for Sta. Cruz Island. Paseo parokyano (lovers) said it is about time that such kind of music bar and restaurant opens there.

From sumptuous and affordable meals and drinks, Kape Zambo na Paseo serves fresh bounty Zamboanga’s sea foods that one can order and be cooked the way you want – grilled, fried, mixed with vegetables, or broth like sinigang with spices.  It is the also the only restaurant in our city that offers fresh Talaba or oysters from Sibugay. If you’re craving for this healthy seafood, come to this place and enjoy it with a bottle of Coke, wine, or cold San Miguel beers.

It also brags its delicious Kape Zambo chicken barbeque and Kape Zambo liempo. Marinated and cooked with a secret recipe, they are juicy, mouthwatering and yummy to the last bite. Of course, after a full meal, one must try their famous Kape Zambo coffee especially the native coffee they named Kape Zambo Maria Clara. All of these heavenly gastronomic treats plus soft and melodic music (not rock and noisy music) played in the air makes dining at Kape Zambo na Paseo pleasurable. Notable too, its dining place is wide, spacious and not clumpy.

Going for a picnic to Sta. Cruz Island? Don’t worry what food and drinks to bring, Kape Zambo has them packed for our convenience at reasonable prices.

So what are you waiting for? Anda ya tu alya and proba Kape Zambo na Paseo del Mar!

Going to Sta. Cruz Island is now easy, safe and affordable. The boat going to this famous island is located at the back of Kape Zambo. The boat fare is P1,000 good for 10 persons. Port fee is P5 per person. If I am not mistaken, the entrance fee to the island is P20 only. Cottage rental depends on the size of the hut. Security is provided.

“Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.” Philippians 4:6 (NIV). One of the most important things one can do if you own a business is to lift it up to God and pray every day.
