On September 12, Wednesday, top comedienne and singer diva Mitch Valdez will have a fund raising dinner concert, Mitch Valdez Con Amor Live in Zamboanga, at the Palmeras Ballroom. It will be for the construction of the San Sebastian Chapel in Cabaluay. She is one of our country’s top stand -up comedy performer that brings the house down with her hilarious wit and humor while belting out popular and all-time favorite tunes.

Aside from being a seasoned comedienne and a good singer, Mitch is also a well-respected film, television, stage and award-winning actress.  In the ’80s and ’90s when Mitch (renamed from Maya Valdez by Ishmael Bernal) made her presence felt in films of Brocka like Burgis & Lunes, Martes, Miyerkules, Bernie’s City After Dark, Peque Gallaga’s Oro Plata Mata, and Mario O’Hara’s Bulaklak ng City Jail with Nora Aunor.

For the longest time, Mitch since 1990 has headed the OPM (Organisasyon ng Pilipinong Mangaawit) Board for the promotion of Filipino music and protection of local singers.  It will be a night full of laughter and fun that will make people of Zamboanga City enjoy the lighter side of life and help build God’s house.
