Simple or culinary cooking and baking is not only for foodie professionals; those who like to go into the food business; food hobbyists or trippers; and to those who plainly love to eat or prepare food. It is also for special children who are dear in our hearts, to their parents, and to those who care about them.

This is what the Camera Club of Zamboanga City (CCZ) in coordination with the Tzu Chi Foundation-Zambaonga Chapter did for special children of Zamboanga City last November 25, 2012 at La Azotea, Garden Orchid Hotel. The active CCZ officers and members led by president Jun Kwan organized the first PWD (Photography With A Difference) Jr. Master Chef in our city.

The special children were taught how to design cupcakes, put prepared toppings in pizza crusts (baked by ABC Bakery), and made yummy fruit salad  all under the guidance of Zamboanga State College of Marine Science and Technology HRM professor Christine Fernandez, her HRM students and members of the Rotaract Club of this school. Some members of CCZ and Tzu Chi even participated as “instant food teachers”.

It brought ultimate joy and fun to the special children as they really enjoyed the food preparation activity. Their expressions of feeling were felt by the people present there. And this is what the CCZ members captured with their cameras. It was a special moment of love and happiness preserved by CCZ in pictures that I am showing in this spread today.

This laudable project was supported by Canon Philippines, Jollibee, and Western Mindanao’s premiere balloon maker By Gems Party Kingdom.
