It will be one of the most exciting and exhilarating alumni 2 day event that includes an engrande fellowship, door prizes, talent competition, booth exhibit, testimonial dinner, and turn over of a multi-purpose covered court from Congresswoman Beng Climaco-Salazar.

In a recent peace event in Zamboanga City, members of the WMSU- HANDOG Volunteers Organization under the umbrella of the Center for Hands of Goodwill participated in this year’s Mindanao Week of Peace Celebration, which started last November 29 at the Joaquin F. Enriquez Sports Complex (JFESC).

The event started with a parade from Petit Barracks culminating at the JFE Sports Complex. Some 10 thousand people where present during the celebration. HANDOG lead the hoisting of the symbolic painting which read as “We Love Peace.”

The Mindanao Week of Peace Celebration is a comprehensive educational promotional activity that involves various GO’s, NGO’s and PO’s in advocating the culture of Peace in Southern Philippines. It is a celebration of Peace which was initiated in Zamboanga City by PAZ (Peace Advocates Zamboanga) and SALAM Foundation in 1997. Presently, it is being organized by the Interreligious Solidarity for Peace.

The group was led by Mr. Allain A. Paragas, Technical Associate and Coordinator assisted by Mr. Jerrick Gerard C. Go. (Contributed by WMSU-HANDOG thru WMSU-Public Affairs Office)

Homecoming means more than winning a competition or a sporting event. It provides an opportunity for every component of the university to come together to celebrate as a whole. (Anonymous)
