Nope it’s not her birthday (she’s way passed her golden birthday). But I like to greet DZT Social Whirl’s Tita Corteza advance happy 74rd birthday for tomorrow. I attribute her natal day this way because she will be celebrating her golden wedding anniversary this coming December.

Like gold, she is precious to us and we value her. She is always been a very good supportive wife and loving mother to us four siblings. And of course, she is a doting golden grandmother. She is also a golden friend who offers sincere camaraderie to her friends. She may not be perfect but she always do her best for us.

Since last year, she is excited to celebrate her 50th golden marriage with my dad Danny Corteza. I guess her being a social columnist since 1960 and writing about this special occasion rubbed on her. She is anticipating with much gusto the renewal of her matrimony that she first thought that it was supposed to be last December 2012.

They actually have double nuptials. First it was January 6, 1963 in a civil wedding then it was followed with a December 6 wedding of the same year. But since my two siblings working in the USA as nurses prefer a date of grand celebration between these two dates, they will have it on December 25, 2013. It will be a triple celebrations – their golden wedding, Christmas Day, and a family reunion of the Espiritu (my mother side) here.

To Mom, may our good Lord bless you with good health as well as Dad all the time

"May the LORD answer you when you are in distress; may the name of the God of Jacob protect you. ...... May He give you the desire of your heart and make all your plans succeed”. Psalm 20:1,4

Godly wisdom for children and husband: "Her children stand and bless her. Her husband praises her," (Proverbs 31:28). If we do this, we will live a blessed life.

Take it from the 5th commandment, "Honor your father and your mother, as the LORD your God has commanded you, so that you may live long and that it may go well with you in the land the LORD your God is giving you." Deuteronomy 5:16 (NIV)
