January 25, 2013 (this Friday) will be a unforgettable day for Zamboaguena entertainment producer, talent manager, and Manila-based businesswoman Geraldine “Jay” Lim. Philippines Soul Siren and our country’s first OPM (Original Pilipino Music) Diamond Awardee song belter Nina will sing two of Jay’s composition during Nina’s first 2013 solo concert at Greenhill’s  Music Museum entitled Reborn.

The 2 new songs written by Jay, Paano and When the Love is Gone, are Nina’s top favorites for her new 13-track album titled All Good under Viva Record.  Nina sang the When the Love is Gone with full of emotion that she was in the verge of tears. This album will be launched in this concert produced by Viva Concerts and Events. It was Viva producer Vic del Rosario who requested Jay to include it in Nina’s newest album. Jay aside from producing shows and managing talents has a compilation of original songs she has kept in her file. She is grateful to her brother Atty. Derek Lim who prodded her to pursue her passion in song writing.

The other sure-hit songs in the new album of Nina are All Good (the carrier song) by Toto Sorioso, Maybe It’s Too Soon by famous songwriter Vehnee Saturno, Mahal Na Mahal Kita by Archie Dairocas, and Pinilit Kong Limutin Ka by Jimmy Borja. It includes also the song Perfect originally sang by True Faith, Hurting Inside by Vanna Vanna, and her version of  Pops Fernandez’s Don’t Say Goodbye which she sang for the hit drama movie A Secret Affair. Jay said she is the only new composer and beam with pride that she is among veteran and award winning composers in this all Filipino composition album.

Nina (Marifil Niña Girado in real life) started her singing career in 2002. Today, she is one of our country’s best song interpreters who can perform her own distinct style. She does not belt or scream out her songs and do vocal acrobatics, she simply croons with her melodic voice.  In 2004, she was named as the No. 1 Female R & B singer after popularizing acoustic singing.  Among her big hits are Someday, Heaven, Foolish Heart, and her famous Love Moves In Mysterious Ways. Presently, she has earned 8 Awit Awards.

Nina Live! album in 2009 was certified Diamond by PARI (Philippine Association of Recording Industry)  as it became the biggest-selling OPM album of the 2000s. The same year she was named as the best-selling female recording artist by the Guillermo Mendoza Memorial Scholarship Foundation. And in 2011, the Wave 89.1 Urban Music Awards gave her a Special Achievement Award for her contributions to the music industry.

If you want to feel good, watch Nina concert or buy her new album.
