Yesterday I had a Facebook chat with one of my Manila-based business clients who asked me what and where he can go further in his business. I told him to go into online or e-commerce which I have been reading about. It is said to be the untapped potential of business opportunities and growth of the business market.  (For those who don’t know yet it’s meaning, E-Commerce is the transaction or facilitation of business in the internet. It is short for “electronic commerce”.  It involves buying and selling products and services online.)

Our next conversation led to the questions how do we start an online business? And how do businesses that have already website grow further online? And I found the answer for Zamboanga City residents and those leaving nearby – the Digital Filipino E-Commerce Face-To-Face Bootcamp to be held in STI College-Zamboanga on March 16, 2013. (I will inform my client to come to Zamboanga City and don’t miss this one, teehee.)

STI College Zamboanga will host this nationwide advocacy campaign of Digital Filipino (DF) founder Janette Toral. The DF primary noble aim is to guide Filipinos how to become successful e-commerce entrepreneurs. And fortunately, Zamboanga City is included in the 16 location itinerary of DF this year.

Toral is famous for being a disruptive e-commerce practitioner since 1997. A change agent, maverick leader, and velvet rope architect, Janette has authored and published e-commerce books on print and online. She has written as of last count 194 posts on DigitalFilipino: E-Commerce, Social Media, Digital Marketing, and Technopreneurship Guide to the eFilipino. She is a Certified ScrumMaster and Scrum Product Owner (issued by Scrum Alliance, a global certification body).

Toral will personally teach the STI-Zamboanga E-Commerce participants how to put up and maximize websites, market one’s products and services, accept payment online, and create loyal customers. The first run will have a interactive webinar lectures and consultation sessions. It will be followed with online lesson programs for free.

It is open to all students, professionals, employed individuals, entrepreneurs, and local companies who wants to learn the advantages and disadvantages of E-Commerce. They will learn about online shopping/banking, the payment modes, assurance of delivery, laws and policies that govern it, and most important of all, how to go into it.

Why join this DigitalFilipino E-Commerce Boot Camp? The event aims to train 1 Million Filipinos wanting to become e-commerce entrepreneurs and we can be one of them. Meet like-minded individuals and learn new business friends. It is easy to learn as it is designed to accommodate queries from participants of various skill levels. Plus it will tackle the latest developments in the sphere of e-commerce from expert e-commerce and successful social media specialists.

At the end, if the participants will be serious and apply what they have learned, they can have their own e-commerce site this year, sell (Zamboanga City) products and services legally, and get customers around the world.
