“To be the leader in innovative and relevant education that nurtures individuals to become competent and responsible members of society,” was the vision of STI College Zamboanga that compel Zamboanga City High School West ’87 graduate Noemir Rose Aquino-Yamongan to enrol her course of BS in Computer Science in this school. A bright high school student of this public high school, she felt that with this course she can pursue her life’s dreams of a better and happy family life of her own.  And now it is happening.

Rose is now happily employed at DynCorp International LLC an American company that serves the needs of the RP-Visiting Forces Agreement. She maintains fuel accounts and monitors office operations. She said she is accountable in handling various functions for the sleek operations of the organizations.

Rose credits her high school mater for moulding her. She found the courage to step out of her comfort zone. And aside from learning from her mistakes, she added, she has learned to listen to her heart in pursuing her passions and dreams. ZamboWest made her face the challenges of life.

And when she reached college, STI taught her to dream big, learn more about herself and about the things she truly wants. She realized the value of education as no one can take it away from you once you earned it, she shared. She also attributes her competency and being a responsible person to her STI professors. True enough, she found her present job fulfilling after graduation. The school’s high academic standards and extra-curricular activities made her a better person.

For all the graduates, this is the message of Rose, “Aim high, be the best that you can be!”
