Whether you’re a student or a professional, there is an opportunity to make your summer of 2013 productive, creative and artistic. And yes for kids too. I remember years back I helped organized art class for 3 summers with now Canada-based local artist Mae Ruiz. They were successful I say because her art students whom I met after sometime are grateful as it has developed them discover and appreciate their innate talents and express themselves better.

A fashion designer shared later that he was able to enhance his designs, one high school student is now a successful art performer, some are in the medical fields as doctors and nurses, and in the business world too (they said they are more innovative in making strategies). I cherish this because their parents and they themselves said that they are grateful and could not forget this discovery phase of their lives.

And now I want to relish again that wonderful feeling of discovering and sharing to Pep Talk readers how to make their summer of 2013 more colorful and meaningful. Renowned international visual artist Rameer Tawasil will be offering an art class, “Tawasil 14th Summer 2013 Art Class,” for adults as well for kids and teens at Pen Haus located in Asiatic Trading, Pilar St.  He will conduct separate 20-hour classes for the children and adults. Professional will have classes on Saturdays.

Tawasil offers art instruction that goes far beyond cut and paste, and arts & crafts. He teaches his students to "see" things in new ways, interpret and paint on their own. He aims to discover skills so it will help strengthen his student’s self-confidence hopefully to lessen frustration and to avoid continual dissatisfaction with their artistic abilities. It can make his students pursue art as a viable interest, he added. Drawing and painting are learned subjects, just like any other, this I have found out.

Tawasil is one of the sought visual artists of our country today. He has conducted several lectures and art exhibits nationally and internationally. He is famous for his “indigenous okkil-style” style of painting. His art works are hang in famous art galleries, homes and offices of top government and well-known personalities. Tawasil art works are precious and valuable in the market. He is a visual consultant of several government and private agencies.

Learning under a great art master is always a privilege. And to be under Tawasil’s tutelage is an occasion one should not miss. Call 0906-8629372 for details on how to enroll in his art class.
