Enjoying his career life at STI Zamboanga – Philip Vega

Are you happy with your present job? One guy that Pep Talk was able to interview about this is STI College-Zamboanga IT (Information Technology) Department Head Philip Vega who answered. “I am very happy”. He shared that he is very satisfied with what’s happening in his career. He does not only love what he is doing, he is grateful that STI is continuously developing him to be a better person with new trainings to enhance his knowledge, skills and personality.

Vega revealed that he never had a second thought of taking up BS Computer Science after his high school graduation from Zamboanga City Polytechnic College popularly known as Trade School. He credits his high school experiences for teaching him the value of hard work, of being compassionate, having self-discipline, maintaining integrity, and treating people with respect. These values made him face college life more prepared, he pointed out.

Since he is fascinated and finds it challenging to face rapid changes in information technology, the choice of school where to enroll was the easiest part, he beamed, STI College Zamboanga.

Vega believes that STI College Zamboanga has always and will be always be the leading computer training school in this city. It has competent faculty members who become your mentors and reliable administrative staff who are very supportive. The air-conditioned school is equipped with modern facilities and the latest computer technologies. Most of their graduates are hired immediately after graduation, he proudly said.

In this school, Vega discovered his leadership potentials and has learned on how to motivate people to achieve excellence in teaching, research, and to execute plans well. As department head, he evaluates all programs by seeking opinions from faculty members. And most of all, the department he is spearheading aims that all STI students must craft thesis that are well thought, practical, and applicable.

With the big responsibility to mentor STI teachers and students into greatness, Vega said that he is thankful to STI management for supporting him in all his endeavors and for guiding him in all his decisions. Not wanting to sound too clichéd, he wants honestly to be a role model by being a responsible person and a team leader that will inspire others to live an enjoyable life like what he is experiencing now at STI Zamboanga.
