Jam with the biggest musical event in Western Mindanao (Part- 3)

This is the last of the 3 part article about the Summer Peace Festival 2013 (SPF13) “Paz Musica del Mar” tomorrow, April 30, at Vista del Mar. The first, the grandest and the most impressive summer musical concert in Western Mindanao, everyone is invited to enjoy listening, singing, and dancing with 9 international and acclaimed musicians!

Coming from the USA, German, and Spain, they will jam with people from all ages, religions, and backgrounds to bring peace and harmony thru music for Mindanao.

Pinay International Sensation. Among the musicians coming is Manila-based fashion designer cum pianist-singer-songwriter Kate “KT” Torralba. She is the Philippine’s Tori Amos, Regina Spektor, and Amanda Palmer the sirens of Lillith Fair ilk. This former piano prodigy will impress “Paz Musica” audience with her song writing flair and humor onstage. KT has already performed in venues in the United States (including The Troubadour and the Key Club in Los Angeles), Europe, and Southeast Asia. Her debut album ‘Long Overdue’ will be soon be launched (I hope it will be available during this concert) this first quarter of 2013.

USA Soulful Man. Another reason to jam on Vista del Mar, is enjoying the music of international Newsweek Magazine cover boy and New York based Fantuzzi who symbolized the gathering of the original Woodstock Concert 1969 in this era. This charismatic and energetic man is full of high energy to get definitely the crowd moving!

Fantuzzi has performed around the world with his music described as “transformational, ecstatic, world-beat rhythm with the soul of Latin/African Reggae” — mashing up Salsa to Niabinge, Rock to Reggae and all folk and tribal styles in between. He is tagged as the Ambassador of Joy and a Global Troubadour, performing at tribal and musical gatherings in over 100 countries.

Since “The Summer of Love,” to the present, Fantuzzi has frequently been found leading musicians in many spiritual and musical gatherings. One thing the organizer of this event has assured has, the music of Fantuzzi, spiced with his unique background and shining spirit, is nothing less than a high-energy meditational celebration for the healing of body, mind and soul.

Jazz From Germany. With 9 records to his name, jazz musician Thomas Walter, from Berlin, Germany has been around the European music scene for a long time. Having studied jazz in the “Folkwang Schule der Künste” in Germany, he continued sharpening his skills with additive lessons from Peter Bernstein, Steve Coleman, Joe Dorio, Jim Black, Adam Nussbaum uvm.

His portfolio includes having played with Randy Brecker, Roy Hargrove, Kurt Rosenwinkel, Jonny O`Neal (Jazzmessangers etc), Billie Kaye (Monk etc), Neal Caine, Takehiro Simizu, Ned Goold, under the conduction of Michael Gibbs. He said this is his first trip to Asia in support to peace in Mindanao and Zamboanga City will be first to hear his kind of jazz!

Stylish Pinay Jazz Singer of Berlin. In pursuit of a higher education in Europe, Filipina Isa Tabasuares moved to Berlin in 2006. Inspired by the diverse culture and mix of international music, she sharpened her musical skills to discover her own style. On one of her regular gigs in the city, she met Thomas Walter, one of Berlins most talented Jazz Musicians. They began to play together creating a unique sound that blends East and West.

It wasn’t before long that talented singer songwriter Siri Svegler (she is coming with the group) spotted them playing in one of Berlins most popular bars and began a new friendship and musical collaboration that ironically is going to bring Isa back to her home in the Philippines where this new sound will unfold to entirely new audience.

Jam with them and 5 other great musicians. Be part of an international music event in Zamboanga City in the pursuit of harmony and peace for Mindanao. For concert, tickets call or text 0917- 8328968 or 0917-558870.
