When Nancy Alipan of Titay, Sibugay, and Paul Glenn Acuin of Baliguian, Zamboanga del Norte arrived in Zamboanga City years back, they had a big dream. They want to fulfill their ambition and bring pride to their family back home someday. And now they are sharing in the open that they are near their life’s goals.

Nancy is now with the Shopper’s Group of Companies (SGC) as OIC System Data Operator Supervisor while Paul is a college professor at the University of Cebu in Cebu City. They came to this city and enrolled in STI College Zamboanga.

She took BS in Computer Science while he enrolled in Information Technology. STI Zamboanga was the only school they wanted because it was a popular computer school in their respective hometowns.

They heard of inspiring stories of STI graduates, and they themselves are living testimonies, they disclosed.

For a conservative provincial girl like her, Nancy revealed that it was a challenge to adjust first in city living. But she is grateful to STI’s different activities as it brought out the best in her and built her confidence to face the real world.

“STI provided me the necessary and appropriate knowledge and skills to be a competent IT professional and taught me to be responsible in all the things that I am going to do,” she shared.

She also remembered the motivation and encouragement she got from Titay National High School, to achieve her dreams, when she left her high school alma mater. Her next career step is to be proficient system analyst.

On the other hand, Paul is now happy to be a teacher for the students of UC. One day, he feels and aims, to be an international IT professor in a reputable international university. Since Metropolitan Cebu has many computer schools and competitions were stiff, it was a big career entry, he said, when he was accepted at UC.

The good trainings and four year preparation in STI Zamboanga paid off, he enthused, as it gave him an edge during his interview.

He is encouraging students of Baliguian National High School not to dread in coming to a big city. Like him, he said, STI Zamboanga can take care of them from enrollment to employment. The school has complete facilities, very supporting staff and competent teachers who are good mentors to develop one’s talents and skills, he added.

“For what I am now, I owe it to my beloved STI. My dreams are now within reach. Thank you, STI, for making it happen,” Paul conveyed.

Nancy and Paul both agreed unanimously that STI College Zamboanga has leveled up their lives. Congratulations to both of you from Pep Talk! It makes me proud that STI College Zamboanga is keeping Zamboanga City image up as the center of excellent education in Western Mindanao.
