If you are a supporter of Tzu Chi Foundation Zamboanga City or been involved in one of their humanitarian activities, I am sure you have seen this big lady in blue – silently busy attending to everyone. Quiet and working making sure that everything are in order, she stays behind the scene of every Tzu Chi event. I only got to interact with her by asking pictures to copy of Tzu Chi events that she post in her Facebook (FB). I used her FB pictures for my inspirational stories of Tzu Chi event. She was present in almost all Tzu Chi doing all kinds of work for ten years, according to Tzu Chi Zamboanga Liaison Officer Dr. Anton Lim.

I am not close to her. Her name was not mentioned every time I write about Tzu Chi but she was always there. We do smile with each other and I thank her for her graciousness when we bumped each other.

And now together with the Tzu Chi members and all the Tzu Chi beneficiaries, we will be missing this wonderful young lady, an angel with a big heart – Caroline Lim who is fondly called Auntie Carol. She passed away last week of a uterus cancer and will be interred tomorrow (Friday). It shocked everybody because she kept her ailment from everyone and perhaps only her family and close friends knew about it.  Carol was the daughter of the late John and Alice Lim. She managed Jollice Restaurant which is beside Grand Astoria Hotel. This I knew only a few hours ago from her cousin Danny Lim.

Reading from all the condolences for Carol Lim in the FB makes you smile and be proud of her. She lived a life of service which I hope will inspire all other young people of her age to do the same.

In behalf of Tzu Chi, her family and friends even strangers whose lives you helped, thank you, Auntie Carol, for living a life of an angel that helps silently those who are in need.

Tzu Chi Foundation is a non-profit organization with social and community services, medical care, education and humanism focus on giving material aid and inspiring love and humanity in both the givers and receivers. Since its founding, the Foundation has dedicated itself in the field of charity, medicine, education, environmental protection, as well as the promotion of humanistic values and community volunteerism. The humanitarian work is both a means to help those in need, and also a way to open the eyes of the volunteer to the harsher side of life, so that through giving, they may find spiritual happiness and life's true meaning. Tzu Chi Zamboanga is located in Zamboanga Medical Center.
