To help drum beat and inform the general public about the celebration of National Disaster Consciousness Month this July, the Philippine Coast Guard Auxiliary (PCGA) of Zamboanga 304th Squadron joined in the city motorcade and fitness program of the Philippine Coast Guard Zamboanga last July 2, 2013. It was held at Paseo del Mar.

The observance, which is led by the National Risk Reduction and Management Council, aims to increase every Filipino’s preparedness for the safety of our people with the theme, “Ligtas na Bayan, Maunlad na Pamayanan,” this year.

PCGA-Zamboanga is led by LCDR Rose Felix Diu as the PCGA Chief of Staff/Acting Squadron Director of the 304th Squadron. As the auxiliary civilian counterpart, PCGA is active in supporting all the events of our local coast guard in the promotion of safety of life and property of our sea. It is also get itself involved in preservation of our marine environment and its resources as well assist in the conduct of maritime search and rescue, helps in the maintenance of  aids to coastal navigation, and in the conduct of civic community programs.
