Situations like war, siege or violence can affect people’s lives. I am not a psychologist but clinical studies have shown that people especially children who survived a natural or political disaster, or being a witness to a wide range of violent events, the psychological trauma impact can have serious consequences in the long-run. It can lead to psychological problems or even physical problems such as substance abuse, personality problems, depression, or suicide.

As a matter of fact, all of us no matter what sector of society we belong to, have been affected.
The experience is so depressing, more so, for the thousands of evacuees who are still cramped together in evacuation centers for more than 3 weeks already. Most want to leave but where to is the question they have to face. Post trauma treatment is necessary, aside from food, shelter, and livelihood assistance, to be conducted to all who are affected.

And to alleviate evacuees even for a temporary moment, By Gems Party Kingdom visited 3 evacuation centers (Joaquin Enriquez Grandstand, Sta. Maria Elementary School, and Maria Clara Lobregat High School in Divisoria) to share happiness for free. They brought total entertainment that they normally perform for their clients costing thousands of pesos. From games and prizes they gave, By Gems Magician Edward and By Gems Ventriloquist Kuya Fred with Baby Bryan performed to the delight of the evacuees. By Gems mascots and jolly By Gems party hosts led the children including adults in singing and dancing. It was more than 2 hours of laughter and joy that alleviated the grim situation of these evacuation centers. ABS-CBN TV news featured and   hailed By Gems for doing this.

By Gems magician Edward is also one of the evacuees himself. He moved out his family from Talon-Talon one of the affected areas. Feeling the miserable situation of their By Gems staff, By Gems management released salaries even there were no work, orders and bookings for parties and events. This includes the free performances they been performing in evacuation centers.

By Gems said that this is all for the glory of God; and as a way to thank and ask Him to restore happiness of Zamboanga City.

Luke 6:38. “Give, and it will be given to you. A good measure, pressed down, shaken together and running over, will be poured into your lap. For with the measure you use, it will be measured to you."
