With the full support of BPI Foundation and help from other BPI branches, Bank of the Philippine (BPI)-Zamboanga stand stood tall during the Zamboanga Crisis with BPI Bayan Program. They went to different evacuation centers and distributed food, medicines, and clothes in a bayanihan way. It was coordinated with Zamboanga City Health Officer Dr. Rodel Agbulos, Zamboanga Medical Society President Dr. John Anacan and Dr. Tata Ligutom, RMN Station AVP Rey Bayoging, Fr. Totong Soliva of Guiwan Parish Church, and Sto Niño Foundation.

This noble action was spearheaded by BPI Union Zamboanga Chapter President Teng Paragas-Locson (who is also the National VP for Mindanao, Federation of Unions in BPI Unibank). He was supported by BPI’ers John Anitan, Ron Jason Galoso, Heffey Barillo, Art Serafin, and Briley Briones. Teng said he is grateful that they were able to share blessings easily because of the “bayanihan spirit” (unity) and assistance of the different organizations and individuals to his group.

Though this is putting into action the corporate responsible program of BPI Foundation, assisting communities in need, he is proud that during in times of needs Zamboangueños can rely from each, and the positive responses of the bank clients to help thru BPI.
