Buses, trucks, vans, SUVs, cars, jeeps, tricycles, motorcycles, and other vehicles traveling to and forth from the East Coast and even those passing by Guiwan are fortunate that Petron Philippines formally opened a new service station in Guiwan, Zamboanga City yesterday.

This means not only convenience and privilege in loading up world-class products and quality fuels for local consumers but getting the best customer services in this part of the city. It is even worth to travel a little distance from other locations to load up in this gas station because of its wide entrance, spacious space, clean, spic and span setting.

It is also an expansion that brings great honor to Asia’s Latin City because Petron Corporation is the largest oil refining and marketing company in the Philippines. This indicates that the company has confidence in our local economy by partnering with local investors. Supplying nearly 40% of the country’s oil requirements, the company’s refinery in Limay, Bataan has a rated capacity of 180,000 barrels a day. Its ISO-14001-certified refinery processes crude oil into full range of petroleum products including LPG, gasoline, diesel, jet fuel, kerosene, industrial fuel oil, solvents, asphalts, and the petrochemical feedstocks-mixed xylene and propylene.

Professionalism, integrity, fairness, and fostering an entrepreneurial culture that encourages teamwork, innovation and excellence are part of the reasons why Petron continues to lead in this industry according to Petron Mindanao Reseller District Manager Lemuel Cuezon. It’s depot like the one in Baliwasan, Zamboanga City guarantees constant supply of high quality refined fuels around the region. The company high standard of safety is above par set by the industry he added. Cuezon revealed that their service operation is 100% strictly monitored and checked by their mystery customers for feedbacks.

On the side, Cuezon said Petron is committed to protecting and preserving the natural environment, and to promoting the health, safety and security of its people, the customers, suppliers, contractors and the general public. This commitment is key to the long-term sustainability of our business and governs the way we operate he said.  I learned from him too that they have an expensive separator equipment in all stations that separates used oil from water to stop waste disposal in drainage.

Now part of the over 1,400 service stations nationwide, Petron Guiwan Manager Ramil Arieta proudly said that the business is getting positive responses from motorists and public transport operators since its dry run weeks ago. He is proud to be part of well-known fuel company that produces widely-acclaimed fuels namely Blaze, XCS Plus, Xtra Unleaded and DieselMax. And he projects that the station might expand to 24-hour service once the demand calls for it.

To underscore the company’s commitment to human resource management excellence in pursuit of our business goals, Petron was named “2008 EMPLOYEER OF THE YEAR” by the prestigious People Management Association of the Philippines (PMAP). And earlier this year, the company was also named as one of the “BEST GOVERNED PUBLICLY-LISTED COMPANY IN THE PHILIPPINES” by the Institute of Corporate Directors (ICD).

(1Peter 3:10). “For the person who wants to love life and see good days must keep his tongue from evil and his lips from speaking deceit.” Consumers, as their name suggest, consume services and products. What do you expect from them if you lied to them, saying these products are 100% guaranteed to give you total satisfaction when it is not? Would you think they will buy again to you and contribute to your business constant income and profit?
