The grandest and the biggest annual Charity Christmas Bazaar in Zamboanga City, One Mega Fair, will carry on despite earlier apprehension it might be cancelled. The after-effect of the infamous Zamboanga September siege will not deterred the strong will of the Zamboangueños to make life better and merrier in our city.  The one-day fair will open today at Garden Orchid Hotel from 9am to 12 midnite.

Since Christmas is the best time of the year, shopping at One Mega Fair 2013 is more meaningful  as the proceeds raised will go to the different humanitarian programs of the Tzu Chi Foundation Philippines. The foundation is lending a helping hand and been giving assistance in tragedies and calamities created by man or by havoc of nature in our city and other places.

There will be 18 plus food concessionaires that will participate in this charitable event. Famous Myrna Bake House (MBH) will be launching its new line of cakes and pastries perfect for the holidays and have committed to give earnings to the foundation. Other participants are Kape Zambo's Busy Bee, Mi Abuela, Chinito’s and Dunkin Donut among others.

54 merchants and exhibitors plus will be selling imported and local products. From the list I saw, most of them are new entrepreneurs who will be launching and introducing goods that are not yet available in the local market. Among them are Mars Montano, Nice Lim, Patsy Ebol, Yen Delgado’s Human Nature, Sugar Kate of Katrina Malinao, Christine Fernandez, and Apple Go. Jess Yu Digital Photo Fun Booth will capture moments of families and friends together.

Free entertainments at the fair include live performance by Yukaze Band, magic tricks by House magicians and Philippine’s pride Ron Salamangkero (sleight of hand artists), Mime Magician Bibo, champion magician Dennis Santos, and juggling acts of Ars. There will be face painting, tattooing, fantasy make-up, different games and free give-aways.  The new game craze, BDaman Tournament, will also be introduced and let people experience playing it. Artist Isidro Floreta will have an exhibit too of his latest work of arts.

Sponsors are Coca-Cola, Globe, Filinvest’s San Ignacio, GHM Feeds, Continental Choice, and Lenin Computer System.
