It’s the time of the year again wherein chocolate is in demand, prices of flowers, especially roses, jack up, restaurants and hotels are fully booked – it’s Valentine Day.  And today, in reality, this day is not exclusively for lovers only.

Families and friends take this opportune time to go out and celebrate together in the name of love. And I am riding the wagon of love, by sharing to Pep Talk readers about my favorite Valentine best treats for 2014 to celebrate this romantic day.

Top on my list for sweet lovers is Myrna’s Bake House. I had the privilege to try out their 2014 limited Valentine creations - a two or three layered cakes in one. I guarantee you that its newest love creations are the best. Using premium ingredients, high quality chocolates brands, and imported nuts, their 2014 love cakes and cupcakes are of world-class taste.  Everybody will love Myrna’s love cakes, regardless of gender and age.

Love is in the air. And the best way to show that is by giving balloon sculptures that comes with a cute teddy bear from By Gems Party Kingdom. Whether you’re a lover or not, a Papa Bear or a Mama Bear, you will surely be thrilled to give or receive a By Gems balloon expression.

Relax at Biocare Spa Center in Nuñez St. I had a great time of bonding with my brother, Gunther, in vacation last December, with our Dad at Biocare. What I love about this place? Biocare professional and licensed massage therapists are very attentive to your needs. You start first with a BP (blood pressure) check-up,  sauna bath and a shower follows, then the main hour of soothing therapeutic massage in an exclusive room, and you're served with a hot tea after for a complete relaxing treat. This is why it deserves the honor it got from the Spa Association of the Philippines as one of the best spas in our country.

Food trip. Reservation is a must. Valentine Day is the day wherein restaurants are full of diners whether they have gimmicks or not. Lovers, families, and friends love to bond on this day. Favorite to reserve? Kape Zambo in Canelar or in Paseo del Mar. Kape’s yummy food and cozy ambiance with soothing acoustic music makes it a perfect place to dine with loved ones. Craving for Chinese food? Hotel Astoria Lotus Restaurant is a must place to go. Filipino foods? Try the authentic Filipino dishes at Chowtime in Divisoria. They serve the best leche plan in town. Romantic dinner? Astoria Regency has set a dinner for lovers by its pool side.
Happy Love Day to everyone!

Love reminders from inspirational speaker Francis Kong. “Love is not a noun it is a verb. It is not taking it is giving. Valentine’s Day is a day when many hearts are broken and many lives destroyed. Many young people mistake sex for love. When this kind of momentary pleasure is experienced by young people they both lose and they suffer setbacks. Do not let emotions decide for your outcome and future. Get some thinking going and trust God for His perfect timing.”

This Valentine Day - don't forget our parents so we can live a blessed life. Deuteronomy 5:16. “Honor your father and your mother, as the Lord your God commanded you, that your days may be long, and that it may go well with you in the land that the Lord your God is giving you.”
