Felicitations to Silsilah Dialogue Movement for the successful participation of Zamboanga City in the celebration of the UN (United Nation) World Interfaith Harmony Week from February 1 to 7, 2014. It was supported by the local government of Zamboanga City and different private sectors. Silsilah Founder Fr. Sebastiano D’Ambra led the different activities which includes forum and dialogues with local government and civic leaders, student leaders, tricycle drivers, tree planting, and bloodletting among others.

Last October 20, 2010, UN proclaimed World Interfaith Harmony Week. In the resolution, the UN General Assembly, points out that mutual understanding and inter-religious dialogue constitute important dimensions of a culture of peace and establishes the World Interfaith Harmony Week as a way to promote harmony between all people regardless of their faith.

This event recognizes the imperative need for dialogue among different faiths and religions to enhance mutual understanding, harmony and cooperation among people. It encourages all countries to support during this week to spread the message of interfaith harmony and the goodwill in the world’s churches, mosques, synagogues, temples and other places of worship, on a voluntary basis and according to their own religious traditions or convictions.
