District 2 City Councilor VP Elago, a neophyte city councilor who I can say is doing a great job, was recently honored on his birthday by his family, relatives, friends, supporters, and colleagues in the political world at their residence in Tetuan. They are proud of his one year achievements as a city councilor. He is active in the deliberations at the city councilor floor and make sure that he make significant contributions for the good of our city. His recent resolution to promote Chabacano language and culture and proposed June 23 as Dia de Chabacano  of Asia’s Latin City is laudable.

What most people liked and loved about VP is his humbleness. Despite the stature of his current position, he is very friendly and very approachable. He knows how to deal with different people too. And what I learned also he has a very long patience and does not get angry easily. He knows how to control his temper which is a good trait all politicians should possess.

As a councilor, he studies and does intensive research about issues affecting our city. He visits his constituents to find out their needs. He is also good friend of the different political parties. A media person himself being a former TV host, he has developed good rapport with the tri-media (we miss already his emceeing days).
The highlight of his natal day was the lighting of sky night lantern instead of blowing birthday candles. He hoped that these flying lanterns will symbolically carry his birthday wishes to heaven.

Yes, we do wish the best for Councilor VP too, and may our good Lord grants his prayers.
