Surrounded by her family and friends, Marites Go was feted with love and best wishes when she turned 50 years old last July 17. She was given an asalto by her supportive husband, Atty. Joe Go, and loving children at Park 88 Pasonanca. She was shimmering in a gold-inspired gown with red trimmings designed by best friend Nene Reyes that night. Her birthday guests were impressed with the well-appointed venue and the sumptuous food served by the restaurant management.

Marites is a beloved woman who unselfishly loves, cares, who perks people’s lives, and who spend energy on others rather than herself. An active Rotarian, she truly exemplifies the club’s motto “Service Above Self”. This describes her total personality that’s why her family and friends love her so much.

Most of her 300 natal guests came in gold and red dresses to greet her with the best yet to come. Lovely and smart daughter, Kaye, was the amiable host with Anne Lim and Stephanie Rellosa who opened the birthday party with a sing and dance number. Son RJ spoke in behalf of her Dad and family how much they are proud and grateful of her. Together with his brother, DJ, they sang a special song to her. A mini-golden fashion show by her friends added enjoyment to the party.

On the side, RJ shared his Rotary wonderful experience as a Rotex (Rotary Exchange) student and thanked those who recommended him like Rotary Club Zamboanga Pres. Jun Kwan, Rotary PP Oliver Ong, Rotary PP Edwin To, and Rotary Past District Governor James Makasiar. He just came back after a year as a Rotex in Nebraska, USA.

In her response, Marites thanked her family and guests for their wishes. She proudly said, “I am a devoted and loving wife to my husband first then a caring mother to my children. Next comes my community service as a Rotarian”. She acknowledged the presence of Atty. Regina Go-Cruz and her two sons Sebastian and Lionel from Las Palmas, Spain. She also welcomed the fiancé of Kaye, Yoann, from France.

Going beyond fifty now, Marites committed to count and be grateful for that blessings that will come in her life.
