Former Miss Zamboanga and now working as a manager at the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP) in Cagayan de Oro City (CDO) , Connie Borja-Lagonera, walked down the fashion ramp during the MAGS On the Catwalk 2011 Fashion Show at the Atrium, Limketkai Center, CDO, last August 21. It was hosted by hunk actor Derek Ramsey.

There were over 120 models mostly composed of local residents who swayed in the ramp using mags clotheslines. Mags is run by a young CDO resident, Mags Cue,  who owns Mags boutiques here and in many parts of the country. It is a fashion store that sells trendy and fashionable all ladies’ apparel, footwear, bags and accessories. The brand name was derived from the owner Mags C. Cue a young fashionista entrepreneur. It has always been the owner’s passion for fashion that inspires her to put up mags. Her interest in fashion and designing encouraged her to pursue this kind of business.

All mags items are priced reasonably which caters to all ages of “fashionista ladies” and ladies from all walks of life. It has been the main concern of mags that “fashion needs not to be expensive”. mags became Cagayan de Oro’s most popular ladies fashion brand. Due to public demands and requests the owners decided to put up branches in most of SM Malls.

Mags started the popular fashion show of the real people entitled “mags on the catwalk” for four years now. The real people are not models by profession but they are the valued clients of mags, businesswoman, professionals, students, mothers, grandmother’s, other famous and prominent personalities of the city.

Actress Ara Mira was the main model. She pitched in for her younger sister Christine Reyes who is MAGS official endorser. But Connie with her towering height and experience in modelling stood tall and caught the attention of the audience. She was one of the most applauded models aside from Mira.

Connie, who was promoted in this position more than a year ago, have already adjusted in her new work place. She has met new friends and acquaintances locally and Zamboangueños who has made CDO also as their new residence. She is also active in a CDO Rotary Club.
