One of the best provinces to visit in Luzon is Rizal Province. It got a lot of resorts, water falls, great mountain views, fresh air, lots of fresh fruits and vegetables at affordable prices. That’s why when my niece, Ma. Socorro “Beng-Beng” Espiritu-Santos invited me to come over for the Holy Week. I never had a second thought. It will be a refreshing time to relax and to bond with relatives who are now residing in Metro Manila.

Beng-Beng’s husband, Rico, is from Tanay, Rizal. They moved here after staying for many years in Caloocan City. But now they are now working and staying in Colorado, USA. They arrived last week for a vacation and to take a break from their work.

After the contemplating spiritually, we had a grand birthday of Pocholo “Cholo” Espiritu at Beng’s backyard where she built a small swimming pool and a nice rest house last Saturday. Cholo is the son of my late brother Manolo Espiritu. It was followed with a simple family gathering on Easter Sunday.

My other niece, Jessica Espiritu-Powell, also jet in from London, England to join the instant family reunion. It’s really a great feeling to be with loved ones and reminisce past happy memories, and to know that our children as well as my nephews and nieces are now adult with their owned families. And I am glad that they are all doing well.

Welcome home, Rico, Beng-Beng, and Jessica!
