Sec. Coloma inducts ZPC 31st officers PDF Print E-mail

It was a great privilege last July 27, 2012 for the 31st officers and members of the Zamboanga Press Club (ZPC), Western Mindanao oldest press organization, at the Celebrity Hall of Grand Astoria Hotel. Sec. Herminio “Sonny” Coloma, Jr. of the Presidential Communications Operations Office (PCOO) was their keynote speaker and induction officer.  

Sec. Coloma is responsible in coordinating the Office of the Philippines President with all major government public communication and mass media organizations, including Philippine Information Agency, Philippine Broadcast Service, Government Television Network, Philippine News Agency and National Printing Office, and all private mass media organizations. With this development, Zamboanga 4th estate has now a strong linkage with Malacaňang for updates of what’s happening nationwide.

Inducted as president was second-termer Philip Abuy of RPN. The other inducted officers are  Richard Gregorio Falcatan (RMN - DxNO)-  Executive Vice President, Elsie Molina (DxMR/Radyo ng Bayan) - VP for Radio, Monch Follosco (Zamboanga Today) - VP for Print, Nonong Santiago (GMA/Triba Media/Zamboanga Today)- VP for Television, Ma Ester Doroteo (RPN)- Secretary, Jayvee Francisco (GMA) - Treasurer, Hermie Las Piñas Ventura (RMN/TV 11) - Auditor, and Chairman of the Board - Bong Garcia  of Sun Star Online.

The new set Board of Directors are Joey Arana Bautista (Daily Zamboanga Times/CMO-Information Division), Victor Campaner (RPN), Hader Glang (Zamboanga Today),Eugene Euge Lasprilla (Zamboanga Today/RMN), Paul Reales (ABS-CBN) and Jimmy Villaflores (RMN/Daily Zamboanga Times). Other special guests were District 1 Congresswoman beng Salazar and Zamboanga City Mayor Celso Lobregat.
