Zonta Zamboanga serves beyond 32 years of commitment PDF Print E-mail

The Zonta International Club of Zamboanga City celebrated its 32nd anniversary as a club last November 8, 2012 with a Thanksgiving Mass at St. Joseph Church officiated by Fr. Andy Barcelo It was  followed by a simple breakfast. The officers and members of this exclusive civic organization of women are now more re-charge and raring to serve more. They are ready to serve not only women and children of our beloved city but the different communities where they are needed.

Current president is civic and religious leader Pilar Torres with Evelyn Balbon as her president-elect and   Syra Ong as vice-president. The other active officers of the club are recording secretary Ophelia Gayanilo, corresponding secretary Rosella Tan, and treasurer Rita Ong. The present Board of Directors are Dr. Mila Fernandez, Dr. Cely Tan, Dr. Bernie Santiago, and Immediate Past President Rowena Tan.

Past presidents of the club were charter president Pacing Maňalac, Atty. Linda Lim, Dr. Lydia Ramirez, Dr. Cely Araňez, Linda Maňalac, Dr. Mila Fernandez, Cristy Ututalum, Erlinda Ko, Chit Ong, Pafia Carreon, Portia Martinez, Dr. Cely Tan, Mary Usman, Dr. Bernie Santiago, and Rowena Tan. All these women share their precious time to serve as Zontian leaders.

On November 30, the club will have a fund social event dubbed “Ballroom Dancing Extravaganza II”. It will be held at the Astoria Plaza of Grand Astoria Hotel.  This will help raise funds for the projects of the organization.

Calling all our Zontian sisters, past and present, to fully support the club’s endeavors to make life of women more fruitful.
