Today is the 74th birthday of my husband, Danilo M. Corteza Sr., who is fondly called Danny. I met him when he was assigned here as a drug agent popularly known today as medical representative. He is an Ilonggo from Estancia, Iloilo. And I am fortunate that 2013 is our golden wedding year.

We were marriage civil January 4 and had our wedding ceremony in Iloilo December 8, 50 years ago. We are blessed with four children. Eldest son, Dr. Danillo E. Corteza Jr. or Toto, is currently the Board Secretary of Western Mindanao State University. My second son, DZT Pep Talk columnist Dante or Nonoy, works mainly as an independent business consultant who likes good things to happen and writes mainly to inspire his readers that life is good and a blessing. My only daughter, Christl or Duday, is working as a nurse in the USA as well as our youngest son Gunther. Danny and I have a total of 6 grandchildren.

I thank God for all the ups and downs in our life as it made us stronger as a couple and as a family. I pray that He will continue to guard our health as we age in our twilight years. And I ask that He will guide our children as they raise their own families and bless our grandchildren as they grow up.
