26 beautiful Filipinas will vie tonight for the beauty title of Miss World Philippines 2013. She will be crowned at the majestic ballroom of Solaire Resort and Casino in Parañaque City and will represent our country for the international 63rd Miss World Pageant on September 28 at Indonesia.

The glittering grand coronation will be aired at 10 pm  on GMA's Sunday Night Box Office (SNBO) with Rico Gutierrez as the director for television and Robbie Carmona for stage. It will be hosted by GMA network stars Carla Abellana, KC Montero and Victor Basa, together with co-anchors 2011 Miss World First Princess Gwendoline Ruais and Divine Lee.

We should be excited to watch it because candidate # 16, 5’8” and 18 years old Aikah Dindah, is from Zamboanga City. A graduate of Diploma in Airline Management from the Universal College of Southeast Asia, Aikah won as 2nd runner-up Miss Zamboanga City last year. She was Miss Fonda de Ayala 1st runner-up in 2011. Being one of the chosen candidates in this beauty and brain contest is already an honor; it makes her one of the beautiful women of the Philippines.

This is the third year Miss World Philippines is being handled by beauty and health expert Cory Quirino of Global Quest Inc. The winner will receive P1 million in cash on top of other fabulous prizes from pageant sponsors. Past Filipina Miss World near-winners were Evangeline Pascual (1st runner-up 1973), Sharmaine “Ruffa” Gutierrez (2nd Princess 1993) and Gwendoline Ruais (1st runner-up 2011), and Quenerich Rehman (top 15 2012). Will our Aikah Dindah bring home the crown? Let’s root for her.
