Five lovely candidates for the Miss Red Cross Zamboanga 2013 were presented to the public last August 3, 2013 at the Red Cross Social Hall. They are Toniemarie E. Perez ( Industrial & Constructor Sector  candidate),  Najeeva B. Jumadil (City Gov't Sector candidate), Ivy T. Atilano (Education Sector candidate), Rezelle Faith E. Lauigan (PNP Sector candidate), and Regine M. Antonio (Transportation & Communication Sector candidate). They wore their best casual attires and competed for the best in sport wear. Winners will be announced during the coronation night on October 11.

Miss Red Cross candidates are pre-selected and represent certain part of our society. They are already considered winners as they possess the regal qualities of beauty queens. Aug. 3 was the first canvassing of this annual charity beauty search with a cause. Funds raised will be used to support Zamboanga Red Cross programs.

There will be two more canvassing, September 3 and October 4. The one who will garner the highest votes will be declared as the Miss Red Cross. Other special awards at stake are Best in Retro, Cocktail Wear, Miss Talent, and Best in Long Gown.

This year chairperson for the quest for Miss Red Cross is civic leader Vita Guingona. Dr. Mila Fernandez is the over-chairperson of the Philippine Red Cross local chapter. Kudos to Dr. Vic Liozo, the administrator, for hosting again this worthy and noble charity project.
