75 blissful years PDF Print E-mail

I thank God for 75 years of blissful years of my life. There were ups and downs but for a woman who turned 3 quarters of a century last January 19, I have many things to thank for and have passed thru many challenges in life. I can say I am a fulfilled woman with successful children and a loving and very understanding husband Danny.

Like most of my previous birthday celebrations, I preferred to keep it simple and intimate with friends who remember. It was indeed more fun and enjoyment at the Lotus Restaurant of Grand Astoria Hotel when I turned 75. It was all an all-woman afternoon delight with high school buddy Romana Salazar and her daughter Marichu Salazar-Gapoy, my all time best friend Mary Usman who tagged along Trining Horilleno and Daisay Tiongson, my best friend doctors Dr. Araceli Tan and Dr. Bernadette Santiago, close Zontian sisters Nene torres and Rowena Tan, my associates in media DZT columnist Christine and Zamboanga Today Mila Arieta. I missed my buddy best friend Ganding Bello who was sick that day.   I thank Myrna Inocencio of Myrna’s Bake House for my birthday cake and the balloon bouquet from By Gems Party Kingdom and those who greeted me earlier with phone calls.

My husband Danny came in later with my son Dante to pick me up. My eldest son Danny Junior and his children could not join because his wife Bebot was operated at Ciudad Medical Zamboanga. We went to visit her after Astoria in the evening and had a family dinner in her hospital room. My golden wedding anniversary last December with the long grand vacation in Manila during the holidays was already my 75th celebration thanksgiving. My US-based nurse children, Christl and Gunther, went home to be with us that time.

To my faithful Social Whirl readers, thank you for being with me all these years.
