Religious and civic leader Marites Go was unanimously  elected as the new Regent of Daughters of Mary Immaculate International (DMMI) for 2014 recently. She was formally installed by Vicarial Regent Grace Gonzales as the installation officer and Angie Baes as the Diocesan Regent. It was held at the Saint Ignatius of Loyola Parish in Tetuan, Zamboanga City with the presence of Rev. Fr. Marsh Villagracia. Past Regent Baby delos Reyes made the occasion special  with a beautiful and yummy cake in honor of Maritess installation.

DMII is a religious organization of Catholic women who serve the church with the Mary Immaculate as their inspiration. Their theme this year is “Strengthening Our Faithfulness’ to Jesus through Mary by Serving the Poor and the Needy.” Among its active members are Zeny Andio,  Arlene Santos Emata, Evelyn Lim, Madel Eumague, Helen Espinosa, Shirley Ann Juarez, Maria Lena Yulo Marcos, Naty Bonifacio Hernandez, and Angie Rute.

Aside from DMMI, Marites is the chairwoman of Mother Butler Mission Guild-Unit 8 Zamboanga City and was the past president of Rotary Anns Club of Zamboanga City for 2 terms. What is also admirable about Marites is she was a very supportive and loving wife to the late Atty. Jose Go. She was the strength of his last few days of his life. Marites, currently, takes good care of her children with her own business.

To Maritess, God be with you as you lead the DMII to a greater height with wisdom as a leader, protection from all harms, and guidance from God always.
