The Zamboanga City Water District (ZCWD) will be fine-tuning the water rationing system that has been imposed in the City effective March 6, following minor hitches in the implementation of the rationing schedule during the first few days.

OIC Head Technical Services Group Engr. Al Alfonso said during a press briefing Monday, March 10, that the ZCWD noted several discrepancies in the implementation of the water rationing system as several barangays that were not included in the list of affected areas for water rationing experienced a disruption in their water supply, and vice versa.

Alfonso clarified that discrepancies such as these are expected during the first few days of implementation of the water rationing system, but assured the public that the ZCWD is already conducting an assessment to determine the cause of the issue.

He also reported that no abrupt drop in the City water supply was noted the past week, and that the ZCWD will continue to monitor the water levels to anticipate changes. — Jasmine Mohammadsali
