Men of the Labuan Police Station led by Sr. Insp. Chester Natividad arrested a retired army soldier for possession of unlicensed gun in Barangay Sinubong.

Arrested was SSgt. Baldomero Asio y Vergara, 49, married, of Labuan.

Recovered from Asio’s possession was a Norinco .45 caliber pistol loaded with 10 rounds of ammunition.

Natividad said they were manning a checkpoint along Sinubong road around 6:30 p.m. when Asio passed aboard a vehicle.

During inspection, Nativiidad’s men found out that Asio was carrying a pistol and during interrogation he could not produce documents legally allowing him to carry and possess a gun.

Asio was taken to the Labuan Police Station while the gun was confiscated and was turned over to an investigator.
