A resident of Baliwasan managed to escape from captivity after he was reportedly seized by four men from their residence and was brought to a nearby safe house last Tuesday.

Marjoram Alani told the police that he was at their house around 5:30 a.m. when a certain Hilton Ammar of Suterville, San Jose Gusu and three companions named Ebil, Ronning and Gams appeared and abducted him.

Alani said he was brought to a safe house somewhere in Suterville where he was tied.

It was learned that the abductors had demanded P15,000 from Alani’s mother for his release.

However around 3:30 p.m. of the same day, a certain Rosalie Elago y Mohelloi, 29, helped Alani untie the rope from his arms which made him escape.

Alani proceeded to the city police office to report the incident.

Policemen swooped down on the Suterville safe house but the abductors were no longer around.

Police recovered a dismantled Honda Wave motorcycle hidden underneath the bamboo floor of the house.

Police took the vehicle to the city police office for verification while charges have been readied against the suspects. — Dan Toribio Jr.
