3 wounded in 2 gun attacks Print

Three persons including an eight-year-old boy were wounded in two separate gun attacks in Vitali and Mangusu last Friday.

Jeffrey Tubat y Alvarez, 28, married, a habal-habal driver and Raymond Pedrosa y Papa, 8, were shot and wounded by an unidentified assailant at Sitio Tagpangi, Vitali around 4:30 p.m.

Police said that Tubat and Pedrosa came from a copra buying station in Vitali to sell their copra and while on the way to Sta. Fe, Vitali aboard a motorcycle, an unidentified man shot them repeatedly.

When fell on the ground, the gunman took their money amounting to P4,000 and sped away.

The victims were rushed to the hospital for treatment.

Police said that Tubat was shot in the stomach while Pedrosa was hit in the back of the body.

Police were looking into robbery-holdup as the motive behind the gun attack.

Meanwhile, Andy Pondoy y Amilul, 40, of Mangusu sustained a slight bullet wound in the back of the body.

Initial investigation showed that Pondoy came from the house of his cousin at Sitio Burlua when he heard a gunfire and later discovered he was slightly hit by a bullet.

Pondoy was taken to the Vitali Lying-in Clinic for treatment.
