OWWA-9 to facilitate death benefits for repatriated OFW from Jeddah PDF Print E-mail

The Overseas Workers Welfare Administration Region 9 on Friday assured that they will facilitate the process ofthe benefits due for the surviving family of EmeriaManaloTejero, a 56-year-old Overseas Filipino Worker, who died on natural cause in Jeddha, Saudi Arabia.

OWWO IV Administrative Officer Angeles C. Engalla together with OWWO III Leonilo Y. Daymiel went to the Zamboanga International Airport last Friday to render airport assistance as the bereaved family claims the corpse of the deceased OFW which arrived at 5:30 in the morning.

Regional Director Hassan Gabra T. Jumdain said the family of the victim will be receiving the death benefit amounting to P100,000 and another P20,000 for burialbenefit from OWWA.

Other than the financial benefits, Director Jumdain said, OWWA will also be providing livelihood assistance to the surviving spouse and family of the deceased OFW.

As an active OWWA member, Tejero’s dependents will be granted livelihood aid in the amount of P15,000.00 to be expended for small business activity of the family.

“This will provide another source of income for the deceased OFW’s surviving members,” Director Jumdain said.

The remains of the deceased OFW rests in the humble house of the orphaned family in Culianan, this city.
