Operatives of the Tetuan Police Station are investigating an attempted robbery-holdup at a house in Crispin Atilano Drive, Tetuan last Sunday morning.

The incident took place at the house of Marites Etang y Duggon, 30, married.

Police said that Etang’s housemaid Jenalyn Apelico was at the front area of their store around 9:30 a.m. when two men aboard a motorcycle arrived and pretended as customers.

Thinking that they would buy something from the store, Apelico went to attend to them but the two men followed and suddenly strangled her. Etang went out of the house and the two men turned their attention on her as they freed Apelico.

The duo pointed a gun at Etang and announced a holdup.

Despite the danger,  Etang managed to scream for help that prompted the duo to escape aboard their get-away motorcycle.

The incident was reported to the Tetuan Police Station by Etang’s brother-in-law Richard Edrial, 30 of the same place. – Dan Toribio Jr.
