Over 300 blood donors composed of students and uniformed personnel turned up for the blood letting activity organized by the Red Cross-Zamboanga Chapter in celebration of the birthday of District 1 Representative Celso Lobregat yesterday.

As this developed, Lobregat thanked the volunteers for donating the life saving blood as a gift on his birthday.

A total of 304 units were collected during the day-long blood letting activity held at the City Health Office (CHO).

Lobregat thanked the volunteers from the Zamboanga city State Polytechnic College; Zamboanga State College of Marine Sciences and Technology; Western Mindanao State University; PNP-5th Special Action Battalion under pcinsp. Reynald Ariño; PNP-Special Action Force Seaborne under psinsp. Marlon Ancheta; 3rd LRC, LRD, Socom, PA under Capt. Edwin Mirador; 7th Special SF Company, SSB, SFRA, SOCOM, PA under Maj. The blood letting activity has become a tradition for Lobregat during his birthday which made him the “bloodiest” Red Cross governor.

The activity is also in line with the congressman’s support for the blood program of the Red Cross.  — Rey Carbonel
