“ I am optimistic that your graduation will be productive. You are now equipped with your new found skills and talents. I challenge you to focus on your new endeavor. I wish your life will be more successful and I wish I’m part of your success.”

This was part of Councilor Benjamin “ Nonong” Guingona’s message  to the graduates of the Department of Extension Services and Community Development of the Western Mindanao State University yesterday afternoon at the Juanito Bruno Gym.

Guingona was the guest speaker during the 53rd Western Mindanao State University- Department of Extension Services and Community Development graduation day.

The councilor pledged to the officials of WMSU through  Dr. Milabel E. Ho, vice president for Research Development and Extension, that  he will allocate funds for the rehabilitation and repair of the DESCD Building. 

He immediately called the City Engineer’s office to conduct an inventory and inspection of the building to determine the amount of expenses to be incurred in repairing the building.

Guingona stressed the importance of shelter as one of the essentials to education.
Among the short-term courses at WMSU- DESCD are Garments, Mastercutter, Baking and Pastry, Hair Science, Plumbing Engineering and Cooking.  — Allen Abastillas
