A 37-year-old man was shot and wounded by one of three unidentified assailants in Barangay Limpapa last Monday night.

Wounded was Ronald Sola y Lodivise, 37, of Labuan. He sustained a bullet wound in the back and was taken to the hospital for treatment.

Sola told the police that he was on his way home aboard a motorcycle and when he saw three persons walking along the road in Limpapa. Suddenly he heard several gunfire with one bullet hitting his back.

The assailants escaped after the incident while the victim was rushed to the Labuan Hospital by some helpful residents.

Police were still trying to determine the motive behind the gun attack.

In another incident, the head security guard of Metrobank, Veterans Avenue Branch surrendered to the police after he fired his .38 cal. revolver indiscriminately and accidentally hit the bank’s utility man last Monday.

A police report identified the security guard as Meliton Alzaibar.

The indiscriminate firing hit Junjun Simpin.

Police reovered the .38 cal. revolver with three bullets and one empty shell. Charges were readied against Alzaibar.

In Zamboanga del Sur, a farmer was shot dead around  3:50 p.m. last Monday at Purok Gumamela, Barangay Kabatan, V Sagun municipality.

Killed was Cecilio Paner Y Mahasol  Jr., 43, single, male, of Purok Starbrow, Barangay Kabatan, V Sagun, Zamboanga Del Sur. He was shot by a guman with the use of .45 cal. pistol based on  two empty shells and one slug recovered at the crime scene.

Police investigation disclosed that Paner was  pasturing cattle when a gunman crept from behind and shot him several times. He sustained multiple gunshot wounds on different parts of his body and one gunshot wound on his head.
