Female pusher arrested; gambling machines seized PDF Print E-mail

A suspected female drug pusher was arrested by the police in Sangali in a continuing anti-drug campaign in Zamboanga City.

Emilie Reyes Y. Araneta, married of Bunguiao, was nabbed by men of the Sangali Police Station. Confiscated from her possession were two heat sealed plastic sachets containing white crystalline substance believed to be shabu, two unused aluminum foil strips and a P500 marked bill.

An inquest proceeding was readied against Reyes for violation of Sec 5 and Sec 11, Art II of R.A. 9165 amending R.A. 6425.

In another police operation, seized two gambling machines from the stores of Roberto Sampul and Marilyn Saavedra in Pasobolong around 1:45 p.m. last Tuesday.

The confiscattion was made by intelligence operatives and members of the patrol, group of Culianan Police Station led by SPO1 Raul Galvez under the direct supervision and control of Sr.Insp Helen Limen Galvez.

The gambling machines, one a “kabalyo kabalyo” and “apple-apple” were discovered by the police through an information sent to the station commander’s text program “Avisa Kun Hepe”.

On the same day, men of the Anti-Vice Section, ZCPO, led by Insp. Albert Ramerez Alfaro conducted operation against illegal gambling activities in Talon-Talon, which resulted in the confiscation of two “apple-apple”machines.

Meanwhile, men of the Tactical Motorcycle Riders (TMR) of ZCPSC, while conducting motorcycle patrol along Sta Catalina Road, intercepted a yellow cargo truck bearing license plate MGJ 611 driven by Abdu Sulay Said and loaded with 59 flitches of Lauan and Apitong lumber in different sizes.

When asked for pertinent documents for lumber, the driver could produce any, prompting the police to seize the lumber. — Dan Toribio Jr.
