2 truck men injured in near electrocution Print

Two truckmen landed in the hospital after they accidentally touched a livewire Wednesday afternoon inside an ice plant in Mercedes.

Police identified the victims as Manuel Fuentes, 47, and Julito Manlangit, 23, both single. They were rushed to the Mindanao Central Sanitarium in Pasobolong for treatment.

A police report disclsoed that a fish carrier owned by the Golden Hook Company driven by German Magsayo of Tugbungan entered the Iceworld Ice Plant along Socorro St. in Mercedes around 11 a.m. for ice crushing and while thereat, Fuentes and Manlangit were fixing the cover of the ice box on top of the truck using a steel bar which accidnetally hit a high tension live wire leading to the ice plant.

Two co-workers immediately came to their succor and rushed them to the hospital.

In another development, Jomar Delos Reyes who was arested the other day on the strength of a warrant for murder was committed to the Zamboanga City Jail awaiting court trial.

Delos Reyes was nabbed by policemen along Nuñez Extension by virtue of a warrant of arrest for murder witrh Case No. 25996. No bail was recommended.
