PAF to have 57 new aircraft PDF Print E-mail

The Philippine Air Force will soon have 57 new aircraft.

This was bared yesterday by Lt. Gen. Lauro Catalino G. Dela Cruz  Philippine Air Force chief, who was the guest of honor, during the observance of the 30th founding anniversary of the PAF’s 3rd Air Division.

The theme of the anniversary observance was “3AD at 30th: Tagapagtanggol at Kaagapay ng Mamamayan Tungo sa Kapayapaan at Kaunlaran ng Mindanao”.

Dela Cruz described the 57 coming new aircraft as: Five  C130s from the United States, eight combatant aircraft,  12 aircraft from South Korea, three medium aircraft light airlift, eight medium transport aircraft for relief operations and 21 refurbished Huey helicopters.

Dela Cruz told airmen of the 3rd Air Division to continue and maintain their mission in serving the people of  Mindanao and the whole country as well

“The command is the primary  unit and forefront internal security operations of the PAF.

Dela Cruz directed Maj. Gen. Nicanor M. Vivar 3rd Air Division commander, to retrain his men on combat and relief operations  as summer is here in the country and after summer,  typhoons are expected.

Dela Cruz stressed that he wants every  PAF airman to be physically fit so that they  will always be ready and willing to serve the people in case of eventualities.

“The Philippines is prone to disasters and calamities. In case of bad situation — natural or manmade calamities— the Philippine Air Force is always the first to respond,” Dela Cruz pointed out. — Allen Abastillas
