For the first time since Zion Evangelical School was founded in 1996, the graduation for both Grade School and High School will be combined in its 13th commencement Exercises this afternoon at the Grand Astoria Hotel. This was revealed by School Principal Esther Nellie Hermosa.

Leading the High School Graduating classes are two lovely ladies in the persons of Jennifer R. Tibayan and Rebecca Llanos, Valedictorian and Salutatorian, respectively. Aside from the several awards to be given by the school, the two outstanding graduates will receive various awards among which are: Golden Crescent Achievement Award and Academic Excellence for Tibayan; while Llanos will receive Golden Crescent for Leadership and Young Peace Weavers’ Award (IRSMP).

It will be recalled that Tibayan won the title of “Best Speaker” in a speech contest sponsored by the Toastmasters’ Club last February 25.

The graduation’s Guest Speaker is Mrs. Pauline Ruth S. Ersando-Dolor, Principal of the Jesus Flock Academy located at Sariaya, Quezon. She is also a member of the Board of Trustees of Zion Evangelical School.

The theme for this year’s Graduation is: “The Graduate: A Partner towards Transformational Society, An Answer to Social Change.”

The graduation ceremonies will be led by school officials and to be graced by officials of the Schools Division in Zamboanga City and Prof. Ali T. Yacub, who will bestow the Golden Crescent Achievement Awards to the outstanding graduates. — Jemuel E. Mojica
