2 teen farmers hurt in grenade attack PDF Print E-mail

Two farmers were seriously wounded in a grenade attack at Sitio Limamon, San Isidro, Tungawan, Zamboanga Sibugay last Thursday afternoon.

Police identified the victims as Arjay Villacienco y Limsan, 18, and Mark Anthony Carriage Y Jacuno, 19, both single and residents of Tungawan Zamboanga Sibugay.

Initial investigation disclosed that Villacienco and Carriage together with four other companions were walking and heading for their respective homes, when at Sitio Limamon, San Isidro, they felt an object fell near them. When they realized it was a grenade thrown by an unidentified person, they immediately jumped on safe direction.

However  Villacienco and Carriage were hit by shrapnels while the four escaped unhurt.

The victims were rushed to the hospital for treatment while the grenade thrower escaped during a hot pursuit police operation.

Investigators remained clueless on the grenade attack. They were checking on whether or not it was a terror related incident. —  Dan Toribio Jr.
