Woman rescued in latest human trafficking case PDF Print E-mail

An adult woman was rescued by  men of the PNP’s Special Action Force in a latest anti-human trafficking operation in Sanga- Sanga  airport, Tawi-Tawi the other day.

The woman, whose name was withheld, was turned over to the Bongao Inter-Agency Task Force Against Trafficking (BIATAF).

The rescued would-be victim arrived in Zamboanga City at noon yesterday. She was  escorted by soldiers of the Marines Battalion Landing Team Five ) aboard a commercial vessel.

According to investigation by BIATFAT, she was held by SAF troopers because she is a first timer in Bongao and her movements were susficious. It was found out the woman came from Titay, Zamboanga Sibugay. She was  recruited to work in Malaysia by another woman known as  Auntie.

She was fetched up by men of the Philippine Center on Tranational Crimes Western Mindanao Field Office with Zamboanga City Seabased Anti- Human Trafficking Task Force.

The would-be victim underwent debriefing and counseling before she would be sent home. — Allen Abastillas
