A 55-year-old man died while his backrider was injured in a road accident along the San Ramon Highway in Talisayan Saturday night.

The fatality was identified as Armando Baylon y Tupaz, married, of Zone 8, Ayala. Injured was Gaspar Ramos y Papie, 49, single, of Patalon.

Police said that Baylon was driving a Honda XRM motorcycle with Ramos as backrider heading for Ayala from Patalon around 7:40 p.m. when he lost control of the steering bar and hit streetlight.

Baylon and Ramos were thrown away from the motorcycle due to the strong impact.

Baylon sustained head injury and died on the spot, while Ramos was rushed to the Zamboanga City Medical center where he received treatment.

Police said Baylon, Ramos and some friends had a drinking spree in Patalon before they motored to Ayala.
